UAW 872 is hiring: Field Organizing Staff
Overview
UAW Local 872, the union representing 3,000 graduate student workers at the University of Southern California, is looking for a skilled field organizer committed to building a strong union. The ideal candidate will have previous organizing experience in labor. This position is full time.
Job Duties
Sign up new members and answer questions about benefits, rights, and protections in the union contract
Conduct one-to-one organizing conversations with a focus on building union capacity
Identify, recruit, and train workplace leaders–help build and develop a strong network of leaders in every program and area.
Utilize data to optimize organizing tactics and evaluate the progress of responsible areas.
Additional duties as assigned.

Highly organized, able to prioritize tasks, and consistently and independently follow through.
Responsive and communicative through email and text.
Able to work both independently and collaboratively, as the member of a team of organizers.
At least one year of experience with member-to-member labor organizing and/or organizational communication; other relevant experience will be considered.
Ability to work on evenings and weekends when needed.
Ability to work in person at the University of Southern California, which may include both the University Park Campus and the Health Sciences Campus.
Knowledge of Google Workspace and Zoom.
We are unable to sponsor a visa at this time.
Pay
Annual salary range is between $77,000-82,000, depending on depth of prior experience.
Paid vacation, sick days, and holidays.
